Lasik/PRK Training Programme

Fellowship/Short term ‘Hands-On’ Lasik/ PRK Training (2 TO 8 WEEKS)

Wavefront guided Excimer laser ablation is now a main element of customized corneal treatments used in correcting Refractive error.

We are imparting LASIK / PRK training using Excimer Laser Machine with Customized Refractive Surgery platform along with Topographer and Wavefront Aberrometer at our center “Mahendra Eye Institute & Khairabad Eye Hospital”.

Lasik / PRK Training Details

The course will offer your hands on training. It will comprise of:

  1. How to handle the excimer machine
  2. Interpretation of corneal topography
  3. Case selection
  4. Surgical steps of Lasik
    • Hands on use of microkeratome to create a flap on patients
    • Lifting of the flap
    • Firing of laser beam
    • Reposition of flap
    • Meticulous cleaning of interface
    • Proper alignment of flap
  5. Hands on training for Cases not suitable/indicated for Lasik but preferable for PRK will also be given to the trainee

The benefit of the course is that the trainee gets the confidence to do a proper case selection and perform LASIK/PRK independently.
